Today is leftover day, so we will be nibbling on all the leftovers we’ve accumulated through the week. I can’t wait for that yummy mushroom soup! We eat dinner out on Saturday nights on our way to church, and have for years. I won’t be rushing to change this tradition because even though the food is sub-par, it’s sure nice to have a break from cooking and dishes once a week. Call it my own personal Sabbath rest.
I have noticed that after eating dinner I am not hungry three hours later. This shocks me, honestly. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have a (substantial) snack while watching TV. Not that I wasn’t prepared. Last night I got out six Hershey’s kisses to eat while I watched TV, but even though I ate dinner at 5 and didn’t go to bed until midnight, I just wasn’t hungry. I had two of the kisses before I realized I didn’t even want them. This is huge. Huge.
Another thing I’m not experiencing (and not missing) is heartburn. I used to have it pretty bad, especially at night. I haven’t had heartburn even once this week. How weird is that? And my moods seem to have leveled out a bit. But that can’t be just from changing one meal a day. Can it? My energy level seems a bit up, but now I’m just imagining things, right?
